Kids to get back in the swing of things

Last week Council got to work on replacing swings at children’s playgrounds across Manukau.

Swings at 22 different playgrounds have been out of bounds for kids as rust on the top bars have made them unsafe.

Council is investing $130, 244 in the improvements, which are due for completion before the Christmas school holidays.

The playground locations and work programme (weather permitting) are as follows:

10 -16 October
Burswood Park - Pakuranga
Darren Cres - Pakuranga
Reelick Ave - Pakuranga

17 – 23 October
Lloyd Eslmore Park - Pakuranga
Meadowland Reserve -Howick
Farley/Latimer - Otara
Othello Park - Otara

24 - 30 October
Otamariki - Otara
Manukau Sports Bowl - Manukau
Maxwell Ave - Papatoetoe

31 October – 6 November
Waterlea - Mangere
Ben Lora -Mangere
Purata-_ Mangere
Yates Road - Mangere

7 – 13 November
Finlayson - Manurewa -2 sets
Leabank Park- Manurewa
Randwick Park - Manurewa

14 – 20 November
Wiri Stream - Manurewa
Whitford Domain -Clevedon
Rautawa Park - Kawakawa

21 November – 4 December
Catihness -Pakuranga (edging and swings)
Ti Rakau Parks - Pakuranga (edging and swing)
