Directors Appointed for Tomorrow’s Manukau Properties

At last night’s Manukau City Council meeting six directors were appointed to the board of Tomorrow’s Manukau Properties Limited, the newly formed Council-Controlled Organisation (CCO) set up to develop Flat Bush Town Centre.
The six directors are:

Manukau Mayor Sir Barry Curtis is delighted with the appointments. “The directors chosen possess an impressive range of skills and expertise in property development, planning, finance, corporate banking, marketing, transport and business that will serve the company well.
“Under the chairmanship of Peter Taylor I am confident that our vision of a vibrant, diverse and comprehensively planned new Town Centre for the benefit of the emerging Flat Bush community will be realised,” added Sir Barry.
The town centre will house a mix of commercial, retail, residential and community facilities. It is New Zealand’s largest new urban development and will accommodate 40,000 people, within the next 15 years.
Because of the extremely high calibre of the applicants, the draft constitution for Tomorrow’s Manukau Properties Limited was also amended last night to allow for the appointment of a maximum of six directors.

Mr Ray Davy Consultant on property strategy, policy matters and urban development projects with various local authorities throughout New Zealand and Australia, Mr Davy is currently on the Flat Bush Town Centre Advisory Board.
Mr Roger Gower Experienced business director and chairman of several companies including local authority exposure through ARTNL and City Design Ltd. Mr Gower is the former Group General Manager for TRANZ Rail and Air New Zealand.
Mr Richard Jeffrey Currently Chief Executive of the Counties Manukau Pacific Trust which administers the TelstraClear Pacific Events Centre and director of Conventions and Incentives NZ, Mr Jeffrey has a successful background in project development and marketing in the hospitality and recreation industries.
Mr Peter Taylor A former partner of Ernst & Young, Mr Taylor has also been a director and chairman of a number of boards including companies involved in property development and various local authorities and council-controlled organisations in the Canterbury Region. He is currently Chairman of the Flat Bush Town Centre Advisory Board.
Mr John Whitehead Mr Whitehead has an extensive background in the property and development sector. He is a director of various property development companies and advisor to Air New Zealand on commercial property. He is a director of the Auckland Waterfront Advisory Group and trustee of the property arm of NZ Foundation for the Blind.
Mr David Wolfenden Former CEO and Managing Director in the banking and financial services industries, Mr Wolfenden is currently a consultant on strategic advice and mentoring. He has extensive experience as a chairman and board member of various financial and insurance organisations, and public or quasi public organisations.
