The fight is now on
for Transmission Gully, said Porirua City Councillor Robert
Shaw.
"The vote at the meeting has proved nothing. It would have been easier had it been definitive in either direction."
Councillor Shaw said the Porirua City
Council had now to organize the campaign for Transmission
Gully.
"The issue is too important to leave things as they are - the Council has a grave responsibility. It has been shown that there are still many who see the issue in a narrow and self-interested way."
"We have to convince
the people of the Hutt Valley that Transmission Gully is
critical to there commercial interests.
"It is also important at this time that the political candidates throughout the Wellington Region make their views clear to the public.
Cr Shaw said he would take a series of motions to his Council to kick off the fight.
