CMJ traffic bulletin until Thursday 21 April

CMJ traffic bulletin: Saturday 16 April until Thursday 21 April
Transit New Zealand would like to advise motorists of proposed closures for work on the Central Motorway Junction upgrade over the next week.
CMJ Stage 2
Full motorway closures:
Sunday 17 until Thursday 21 April – CLOSED – overnight from 9pm until 6am the following morning:
- Southern Motorway (SH1) southbound between Cook St off-ramp and Hobson St on-ramp
- Southern Motorway (SH1) northbound between Nelson St off-ramp and Wellington St on-ramp
Ramp and link closures:
Sunday 17 until Thursday 21 April – CLOSED – overnight from 9pm until 6am the following morning:
- Southern Motorway to Northwestern Motorway (SH1 to SH16 westbound) link
- Southern Motorway (SH1) to Nelson St off-ramp citybound
- Port to Northwestern Motorway (SH16 westbound) link
- Hobson St on-ramp westbound to the Northwestern Motorway (SH16)
- Northwestern Motorway (SH16) to Nelson St off-ramp citybound
- Northwestern Motorway to Port (SH16) port-bound link
- Northwestern Motorway to the Southern Motorway (SH16 to SH1) southbound link
- Northwestern Motorway (SH16) to Newton Rd off-ramp (citybound)
- Western Springs eastbound on-ramp to the Northwestern Motorway (SH16)
Note that on the nights that the Northwestern Motorway (SH16) to Newton Rd off-ramp is closed the Northwestern Motorway (SH16) to Nelson St off-ramp will remain open and vice versa.
During these times motorists are requested to follow the signposted detours while the closures are in operation.
Transit New Zealand regrets any inconvenience caused.
In the event of inclement weather, the closures will be postponed to the next fine evening.
The CMJ Project
Stage 1 of Transit’s Central Motorway Junction upgrade project covers the section of motorway between the Upper Queen St over-bridge and Gillies Ave on- and off-ramps and is scheduled for completion in 2005.

Stage 2 of Transit’s Central Motorway Junction upgrade project extends from Bond St on the Northwestern Motorway (SH16) to the interface with CMJ Stage 1 near Symonds St and from Cook St on the Southern Motorway (SH1) to Symonds St.

9.00am – 4.30pm, Saturday 10:00am – 12:00pm and the first Sunday of each month 10:00am – 12:00pm.
