Price Freeze On Cardrona Season Passes
Cardrona Alpine Resort announced today (9 February) it will not increase its Early Bird Season Passes for 2005 and they
will remain at $449 for adults and students, $99 for children and $199 for the over 60s.
Bruce McGechan, Cardrona Alpine Resort marketing manager, said the prize freeze was typical of Cardrona’s commitment to
supporting the local community and winter sports in general.
“Our goal is to make skiing affordable for as many Wanaka residents as possible. Not only will locals enjoy these low
rates but winter sports athletes moving to Wanaka for training can also take advantage of the special Early Bird price,
as well as anyone else who’s planning ahead for the winter.”
The Early Bird Pass will go on sale on 21 February and remain valid until 15 March, after which it will increase to $574
for adults and students, $156 for teenage school students, $124 for children under 12 years, and $219 for the over 60s.
It will then rise in increments before reaching the full season pass price of $1,096 (adult) after 14 June. As with
previous years, children under six can receive free day passes or have their own season pass for a small $5 processing
fee.
Other lift pass prices announced today include the multi-day passes and single day pass prices. A Five Day Anytime Pass
will cost $319 for adults, $263 for students and $160 for children while an Eight Day Anytime Pass will be $485
(adults), $398 (students) and $241 (children). A day pass at Cardrona in 2005 will cost $71, a price increase of just
4.5%.
