2 days to have say about Fendalton Library hours

Couple of days left to have say about Fendalton Library hours

Christchurch City Council is seeking resource consent to allow its Fendalton Library to open on Sundays and to stay open later on Saturdays.

The aim is to better serve the community by providing a seven-day service. At present the Fendalton Library closes at 1pm on Saturdays and does not open on Sundays. If the consent application succeeds, the Saturday and Sunday opening hours will be 10am-4pm.

The time for public submissions about this application is about to close; people interested in the application have until the end of the week to have their say. Submission forms are available from the Fendalton Library and Service Centre, on the corner of Clyde and Jeffreys roads.

The Council’s South and New Brighton libraries are open on Saturday and Sunday and this has proved to be a success.
