CMJ traffic bulletin: Saturday 27 November until Thursday 2 December

Transit New Zealand would like to advise motorists of proposed closures for work on the Central Motorway Junction upgrade over the next week.

CMJ Stage 1

Full motorway closures:

Sunday 28 November - CLOSED - overnight from 11pm until 4am on Monday:

. All northbound lanes between Market Road off-ramp and Wellington Street on-ramp

Monday 29 November - CLOSED - overnight from 11pm until 4am on Tuesday:

. All southbound lanes between Cook Street off-ramp and St Marks Rd on-ramp

Tuesday 30 November - CLOSED - overnight from 11pm until 4am on Wednesday:

. Khyber Pass Rd near the motorway ramps

Ongoing motorway lane closures:

There will be ongoing north and southbound lane closures at night on the Southern Motorway between the Gillies Ave on- and off-ramps and the Symonds St overbridge from Sunday through to Thursday nights until January 2005.

Please choose alternative routes during these closures. Motorists are advised that there could be delays.

The CMJ Project

Stage 1 of Transit's Central Motorway Junction upgrade project covers the section of motorway between the Upper Queen St over-bridge and Gillies Ave on- and off-ramps and is scheduled for completion in 2005.

Stage 2 of Transit's Central Motorway Junction upgrade project extends from Bond St on the Northwestern Motorway (SH16) to the interface with CMJ Stage 1 near Symonds St and from Wellington St on the Southern Motorway (SH1) to Symonds St.

Project information centre: 13-19 Howe St, Freeman's Bay, Monday to Friday

9.00am - 4.30pm, Saturday 10:00am - 12:00pm and the first Sunday of each month 10:00am - 12:00pm.

Road users are requested to follow the signposted detours while the closures are in operation. In the event of bad weather, work will be postponed until the next clear night.
