Flip-flop shows lack of political credibility

Action Hobson flip-flop shows lack of political credibility

Hobson Community Board member Aaron Bhatnagar criticised the flip-flop by Action Hobson over the Mayoralty and Eastern Corridor.

"On the 19th of August they said that they would work constructively with whoever the voters chose, but said that Hubbard needs to think again on the Eastern Corridor. On the 31st of August they said that voters would be disappointed with Dick Hubbard if he worked with anyone except Action Hobson. Today, on the 24th of September they endorsed Hubbard, even though Hubbard is still apparently in favour of the motorway," said Mr Bhatnagar.

"This is a major flip-flop by Action Hobson. Their sole purpose in this campaign is to campaign against the Eastern Corridor, because so many of them and their supporters have views over Hobson Bay. But now they will endorse a pro-motorway candidate for attention," said Mr Bhatnagar.

"This means either one of two things - Dick Hubbard is lying about his true intentions with the corridor, or Action Hobson are betraying the very reason they are running in order to score publicity," said Mr Bhatnagar.

"You can't be pro-corridor and anti-corridor at the same time. Likewise, you can't with any credibility be anti-corridor and endorse a pro-corridor Mayor", said Mr Bhatnagar.

"It is a pity it is too late for the returning officer to change their ticket name to 'Flip-Flop Hobson'," said Mr Bhatnagar.
