Reminder To Howick & Pakuranga Residents For Inorganic Collection Stack It Safely Please!
Manukau City Council’s annual inorganic collection comes to Pakuranga Ward next week and moves to Howick Ward in late
November, with a reminder to residents to stack it safely please!
Residents will receive a blue leaflet in their letterbox telling them about this year’s inorganic collection. The
leaflet will tell residents the date the collection starts in their street.
Council’s Senior Policy Analyst, Patricia Facenfield says, “This year we are highlighting the need for safety during the
collections. Residents can help in several ways, including neatly stacking their inorganic rubbish on the berm outside
their home and avoiding putting out dangerous items such as broken glass.
“Three separate collections will be made, including one for tyres, another for items such as metals that can be recycled
and one for other inorganic items. Please do not put out trees or organic rubbish,” says Ms Facenfield.
“The Council is aware of a garden event taking place in the Howick and Pakuranga area from the 21 to the 24 November and
has made sure that these streets are not included in the collection during this time. However, if residents in this area
choose to put out their rubbish too early these efforts could be wasted,” warns Ms Facenfield.
Residents are also asked to watch out for illegal dumping (rubbish being left in reserves or being bought in from other
areas). If they see such activity they should contact Council’s 24 hour Call Centre on 262-5104 with details. They can
also call this number if they have any further questions about the inorganic collections.
