Seminar teaches skills to plan, run successful community events
Christchurch City Council is running two seminars later this month about how to run a community event. Anyone interested should register with the Council by Monday, 10 November.
Interested people from local groups who want to find out the what, why and how of successful community event planning and management are invited to attend. The seminars�f target are people from groups such as residents associations, churches, schools, sports clubs, youth groups, craft groups, fundraising groups or any organisation that may be involved in events.
Both seminars are on Thursday, 20 November. The first runs from midday to 1.30pm, at the Council�fs Papanui Service Centre on the corner of Langdons Road and Restell Street. The second seminar is at the Service Centre in the South Christchurch Library, on the corner of Colombo Street and Hunter Terrace, from 5.30-7pm.
The content of both seminars will be identical. They are being offered at different times to ensure most people who want to take part can do so. The cost is $5 and each participant will get a comprehensive event-planning manual.
