Preliminary Results of Auckland Energy Consumer Trust


Auckland, October 31 - Preliminary results of the triennial elections of the Auckland Energy Consumer Trust have been announced.

Consumer beneficiaries of the trust voted to elect five trustees to the AECT and the following votes have been recorded by the Returning Office, Independent Election Services Ltd:

Accordingly, the Returning Officer, Dale Ofsoske, declares that the following people have been preliminarily elected as trustees of the AECT:

Michael Buczkowski, Shale Chambers, John Collinge, Warren Kyd and Karen Sherry.

About the AECT

The AECT owns Vector, New Zealand's largest network infrastructure company, which has a portfolio of businesses and services delivering electricity, gas, and high-speed broadband voice and data communications in the Auckland and Wellington regions.

The Trust represents more than 258,000 consumer beneficiaries, who are electricity users in Auckland City, Manukau City and parts of Papakura District.

The election of the AECT was conducted by postal ballot. Voting documents were posted to voters October 15 and, to be counted, all completed voting documents had to be in the hands of the Returning Officer by 5pm, Friday 31 October 2003.
