Cmj Traffic Bulletin: Saturday 11 To Friday 17 October
Stage 1 of the Central Motorway Junction upgrade project continues with lane and ramp closures on the Southern Motorway. Some local roads and streets will also be closed. These closures are outlined below:
· Khyber Pass on
and off-ramps – CLOSED –from 7am Sunday 12 October until 6am
the following morning (Monday 13 October). Also – CLOSED –
at night from 8pm until 6am from Monday 13 to Thursday 16
October.

· Sections of Boston Road and Khyber
Pass Road – CLOSED –from 7am Sunday 12 October until 6am the
following morning (Monday 13 October). Also – CLOSED – at
night 8pm to 6am from Monday 13 to Thursday 16 October.
·
· SH16 to SH1 link (North-western to Southern
Motorway) – CLOSED – at night 8pm to 6am, from Sunday 12 to
Thursday 16 October.
·
· Symonds Street on-ramp
(Southbound) – CLOSED – at night 8pm to 6am, from Sunday 12
to Thursday 16 October.
·
· Wellesley Street
off-ramp (heading into the city from the Southern Motorway
–SH1) – CLOSED – during the day from 7am Saturday 11 October
until 7pm Sunday 12 October.
·
· Wellesley Street
on-ramp (from the new Wellesley Street Bridge onto the
North-western Motorway – SH16) – CLOSED - all weekend from
7am Saturday 11 October until 7pm Sunday 12 October.
·
Wellesley Street and Port off-ramp – CLOSED - at
night 8pm to 6am from Sunday 12 October to Thursday 16
October.
· Please choose alternative on- and
off-ramps during these times.
·
Alternative
routes will be clearly signposted at roadwork sites. All
closures are weather permitting. In the event of bad
weather, work will be postponed until the next clear night.
Temporary barriers are erected and cones placed in all
areas.
Motorists are advised that there could be delays.
· Ongoing north and southbound lane closures
at night until 2005:

Southern Motorway between
the Gillies Avenue on- and off-ramps and the Symonds Street
over-bridge until 2005 – north and southbound lane closures
at night. At least one lane will remain open to traffic at
all times.
The CMJ Project Stage 1 of Transit’s Central Motorway Junction upgrade project covers the section of motorway between the Upper Queen Street over-bridge and Gillies Avenue on- and off-ramps and is scheduled for completion in 2005.
