ARC In Chaos With Transport Issues

ARC In Chaos With Transport Issues - Time For Ministerial Intervention.
The huge rate increases are to pay for public transport - so we are told.
In fact the ARC Annual Plan tells us that $28 million is needed for the rail contracts, including the 'charter of rolling stock and locomotives to provide additional services"
Another part of the Annual Plan states "Expenditure on the rail contract also includes provision for increased service frequency and the acquisition and refurbishment of existing and interim rolling stock"
But apparently there is a shortfall of $145 million in the money the ARC was due to find for new trains.
If that is so why is there an amount of $4.671 million in the Annual Plan for the 'procurement and refurbishment of rolling stock to provide increased services and cater for.. expected demand generated by Britomart?"
Throughout this ongoing rates rebellion the ARC has demanded that we look at what we are getting for our money. Good value they tell us. More trains and more passengers.
It certainly looks as though we will be getting nothing at all if there is no money for trains.
And if there is no money for trains what is the money that the ARC wants going to be used for?.
There is utter and total chaos at the ARC - in both the finance department and the transport department.
Surely its time the Minister moved in and told us all what is going on.
