Hutt City Council To Survey Residents
Hutt City Council will shortly begin its annual survey of residents to determine satisfaction with the levels of service and amenities provided by Council.
The survey commences on Friday, 14th March, and is expected to be completed on Sunday, 23rd March.
"Our performance management systems require us to track how well our efforts are carrying through to our residents. The best way to do this is to annually interview a representative cross-section of residents, and to have this done by an independent professional group to ensure impartiality," said Stephen McArthur, General Manager Customer Services.
"The survey results are also very useful in benchmarking our performance against that of our peers ," said Stephen McArthur.
People living in all six Wards of the City will be telephoned, using a randomised selection method, and asked their opinions on a wide ranging list of services and issues pertaining to the Council and the services it delivers to the residents of the City.
This initiative is in the spirit of the changes in local government, whereby Councils are urged to take a proactive stance in understanding and meeting residents' wishes.
National Research Bureau, a
professional organisation offering specialised services to
Local Authorities throughout New Zealand, has been
commissioned to undertake the study and report back to
Council.
