Charity to benefit from free Christmas bus service

Charity to benefit from free Christmas bus service

The new Ronald McDonald House in central Christchurch will benefit from the city’s Red Bus annual free Christmas Bus service next month.

Red Bus will be operating the bus from Wednesday December 18 to Tuesday December 24.

The Red Bus Christmas Bus will be driven by Father Xmas and his helper - on a selection of different Red Bus routes between 10 am and 3 pm each day.

The bus will be decorated in Christmas theme by their staff.

No fares will be charged but donations will be taken for charity.

This year donations will go to Ronald McDonald House. Last year the Suicide Prevention in New Zealand group were the beneficiaries.

Spot prizes will be given out to lucky passengers.

``The Christmas Bus is a special way of thanking all our passengers and is an opportunity for Red Bus to assist the Ronald McDonald House appeal,’’ Red Bus marketing co-ordinator Nicky Halligan said today.
