Saddle up for Ambury Farm Day
Saddle up for Ambury Farm Day
Auckland’s biggest farm festival is back and bigger than ever on Sunday 22 September.
The Auckland Regional Council’s annual Ambury Farm Day in Mangere regularly attracts crowds of 15,000 plus with its lineup of farmyard fun for all the family.
This year several new activities have been added to the perennial favourites at Ambury Regional Park.
A spectacular trials motorbike demonstration makes its debut at the farm day while a hay baling demonstration is another first this year.
The ARC’s Big Clean Up campaign is new feature with information on how to create a park in your own backyard and native trees for sale to get you started.
The wood chopping competition, which was a huge hit with the crowd last year, has been expanded to include more events including the “jigger board” event where axemen chop logs balanced on boards atop a high pole.
All the kids’ favourites like pony rides, hay bale rolling, gumboot throwing face painting and the farm animals themselves will be there and there will be plenty of food and refreshments available.
Admission and parking is free.
