NO SPRAYING TODAY
More high winds and rain forecast for the Auckland region has forced the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry to call off spraying against the painted apple moth in west Auckland for today (Saturday, 17 August).
The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry will re-assess the situation tomorrow morning and advise whether Sunday's spraying is on, off or postponed.
The aerial spray zone covers some 800 hectares and affects 3,400 residential and business properties. There are a few minor changes to the spray zone from last spray. These include extending the area around Huruhuru Creek in Henderson and Massey West, and near the railway line in Henderson and the area at the bottom of the Te Atatu Peninsula.
As in previous sprays the seaward margins of Te Atatu, Glendene, Kelston, and New Lynn; the Waikumete Cemetery; parts of the Avondale Peninsula and Waterview and low lying land alongside the north-western will also be sprayed.
