Anti Bypass protest Sep 1

There will be an anti-eviction anti-bypass protest in Wellington on Sunday September 1 starting at 1pm. The protest will be outside the Bar Bodega on Willis St.
Bar Bodega is a cultural icon in Wellington. It is moving on Sep 1 because it is in the path of the proposed bypass route, and feel that this uncertainty has become too much for them (though the bypass is by no means certain of being built). It's not technically an 'eviction' but it feels like that way anyway...
Anyway, it highlights what the bypass is about: destroying a vibrant inner city community for a silly unneccesary road.
The protest is being organised by Anti Bypass Action. If you want to help out organise the protest, come to our next meeting at 289 Cuba St next Tuesday at 7pm.
See ya there Sunday Sep 1.
