No application to dispose of the 22 tonnes of 1080 poison carted from the West Coast to the city has been received yet
by the Christchurch City Council.
Consequently, no decision has been made yet by the Council to accept the material for dumping at the Burwood landfill,
says the Council's Team Leader Environmental Effects, Klaus Prusas. "If an application is made, an investigation will be
carried out by the Council's Hazardous Waste Advisory Service and reported to the Council for consideration and a
decision," Mr Prusas says. City Council staff, along with staff of Environment Canterbury and the Police's Commercial
Vehicles Investigation Unit, is investigating the spillage incident.
