Weather Workshop: 5 day forecast for NZ

The long range forecast from Weather Workshop for all of New Zealand to midnight Thursday:
Situation: A high lies just west of the country. A southwest flow covers most areas today and tomorrow. Tomorrow a front in the flow spreads up the country. The front crosses the North Island on Tuesday then the high pushes a ridge back onto the country. On Wednesday the ridge weakens and a strong westerly airstream develops over the South Island. Thursday sees a cold southerly change spread up the country.
NORTHLAND, AUCKLAND, WAIKATO, WAITOMO, TAUMARANUI, TARANAKI, TAIHAPE, WANGANUI and MANAWATU: Mostly fine today and at first tomorrow. Cloud increasing late Monday with a few showers possible and southwest winds. Further showers on Tuesday. Cloudy at times Wednesday. Then showers and southwesterlies on Thursday.
COROMANDEL PENINSULA, BAY of PLENTY/ROTORUA and TAUPO: Mostly fine today and tomorrow with light winds. Showers and southwesterlies developing on Tuesday. Mainly fine on Wednesday then showers developing on Thursday.
GISBORNE, HAWKES BAY and WAIRARAPA: Mostly fine today apart from a few cloudy periods. Mainly fine tomorrow then showers and southerlies working north well after dark. Showers to most places on Tuesday then fine with westerlies on Wednesday. On Thursday showers and cold southerlies spread north reaching Gisborne by afternoon.
WELLINGTON: Mainly fine today. Fine at first tomorrow then cloud increasing later and showers and southerlies developing after dark. Showers clearing on Tuesday. A mix of cloud and fine breaks on Wednesday. Showery on Thursday with cold southerlies.
NELSON: Mostly fine today and at first tomorrow. Cloud increasing later on Monday with showers and southwesterlies after dark. Becoming fine on Tuesday. High cloud increasing on Wednesday then showers and southwesterlies on Thursday.
MARLBOROUGH and CANTERBURY: Fine at first today. Brief coastal showers and a southwest change spread north tomorrow. Becoming fine on Tuesday. High cloud increasing Wednesday then showers and cold southerlies spread north overnight. Showers become confined to the coast on Thursday with long fine breaks inland.
BULLER, WESTLAND and FIORDLAND: A few showers about Fiordland today but mainly fine further north. Showers to most places tomorrow. Becoming fine on Tuesday. On Wednesday, rain about Fiordland spreading north during the day. Showers at first on Thursday then clearing.
OTAGO and SOUTHLAND: Showers about the coast today with cloudy periods inland. Showers and southwesterlies on Monday with some snow to the ranges. Becoming fine on Tuesday. Rain spreading from the west on Wednesday then showers and cold southerlies later with snow to the ranges after dark. A few coastal showers on Thursday but becoming fine inland.
CHATHAM ISLANDS: Today, a mix of cloud and fine breaks. Showers and southwesterlies redevelop tomorrow with further showers on Tuesday. Mostly cloudy on Wednesday with gusty westerlies then showers and cold southerlies on Thursday.
