Short Forecast valid to midnight tomorrow:
The north and west of the North Island from Northland to Manawatu, also for the central high country: Showery conditions, some thunder and hail likely.
Bay of Plenty, also for eastern areas from Gisborne to Banks Peninsula: Long fine periods but showers spreading from the main ranges at times. Cold southerlies working north tomorrow reaching Wellington and Wairarapa by afternoon.
Nelson: Showers clearing later tomorrow.
South Island west coast: Showery in many places. Becoming mostly fine tomorrow south of Hokitika but showers persisting about southern Fiordland with snow there at night to 800 metres.
South Canterbury to Southland: Cloudy periods today. A few showers about the south coast spreading to most places tomorrow Snow to 700 metres in the south at night.
Chatham Islands: Rain breaking to showers tomorrow with northeast winds easing.
