Now the All Districts forecast from Weather Workshop:
The Situation:
A southeast flow covers the North Island. A high is pushing a weak ridge of high pressure onto the South Island ahead of a frontal system in the South Tasman Sea.
And now the forecast to midnight tonight:
NORTHLAND, AUCKLAND, COROMANDEL PENINSULA, WAIKATO, WAITOMO, TAUMARANUI and TARANAKI: A few light showers about Northland and Auckland this morning, otherwise mainly fine. Southerly winds.
BAY of PLENTY/ROTORUA, TAIHAPE and TAUPO: Fine and frosty with light winds.
WANGANUI and MANAWATU: Morning cloud and a few light showers about the ranges clearing and becoming mainly fine. Southeast winds.
GISBORNE, HAWKES BAY and WAIRARAPA: Further showers with southerly winds. Fine breaks increasing in Wairarapa later.
WELLINGTON: Cloudy with a few light showers at first and southerly winds. Slowly becoming fine throughout the day.
NELSON, BULLER, WESTLAND and FIORDLAND: Fine and frosty with light winds.
MARLBOROUGH and CANTERBURY: Mainly fine inland today. About the coast cloud and a few drizzle patches clearing. Southeast
breezes.
OTAGO and SOUTHLAND: Mainly fine and frosty. A few cloudy periods about the coast however. Light winds.
CHATHAM ISLANDS: Cloudy with showers and cold southerly winds.
THE OUTLOOK FOR TOMORROW: Fine over much of the country but cloud and a few coastal showers linger in the east from Gisborne to Wairarapa. At the Chatham Islands, showers and southeasterlies.
