Short Forecast from Weather Workshop valid to midnight tomorrow.
For Northland, Auckland, Coromandel Peninsula and Bay of Plenty: A few showers becoming heavier and more frequent this afternoon. Tomorrow, further showers but with increasing fine breaks.
From Waikato to Wellington, also for the central plateau: Rain areas slowly clearing from the north but a few showers remaining today. Showery tomorrow.
From Gisborne to Wairarapa: Rain in most places but brighter periods increasing this afternoon. Tomorrow, cloudy with brief rain spreading off the ranges from time to time.
Buller, northern Westland and Nelson: Patchy rain.
Remaining areas of Westland, also for Fiordland: High cloud but dry today. Patchy rain spreading from the north tomorrow.
Marlborough, Canterbury and Otago: Rain in most areas becoming more persistent today especially about the eastern hills and coast from afternoon. Snow expected there later today above 1500 metres. Tomorrow, cloudy with patchy rain about the coast.
Southland: Cloudy with brief rain from this afternoon. Patchy rain tomorrow.
For Chatham Islands: Outbreaks of rain.
