Now the All Districts forecast from Weather Workshop:
The Situation: A weak front is spreading north today and should clear the North Island tonight. A weak ridge of high pressure moves onto the South Island behind the front.
NORTHLAND: Mainly fine today but cloud increasing about the western coast later with a few light showers possible. Southwest breezes.
AUCKLAND, COROMANDEL PENINSULA, WAIKATO, WAITOMO, TAUMARANUI, TARANAKI, TAIHAPE, WANGANUI and MANAWATU, A mix of cloud and fine breaks with a few light showers spreading north this afternoon. Southwest winds.
BAY of PLENTY/ROTORUA and TAUPO: Fine at first. A few light showers may develop around Taupo this afternoon but remaining dry elsewhere. Southwest breezes.
GISBORNE, HAWKES BAY and WAIRARAPA: Fine at first. A few showers spread north this afternoon with southwest winds.
WELLINGTON: Cloudy with northerlies at first. Brief showers with a southerly change early afternoon then clearing towards evening.
NELSON: Mainly fine with southwest winds.
MARLBOROUGH: A few showers about the Kaikoura coast otherwise mostly fine. Southwesterlies developing.
CANTERBURY: Cloud and a few coastal showers clearing this morning and becoming mainly fine. Southwest breezes.
BULLER, WESTLAND and FIORDLAND: Mainly fine south of the glaciers. Elsewhere, showers clearing and becoming fine. Southwest winds.
OTAGO and SOUTHLAND: A few showers about the south coast otherwise becoming fine. Southwest breezes.
CHATHAM ISLANDS: Showers and cool southwesterlies developing.
THE OUTLOOK FOR TOMORROW: Fine to most places but cloud and a few light showers remain about the south coast of the South Island. Remaining cold and showery at the Chathams.
