Short Forecast from Weather Workshop valid to midnight tonight
In the north and west from Northland to Manawatu, also for the central plateau: Cloudy periods, a few showers becoming more frequent south of New Plymouth.
Bay of Plenty to Taupo and from Gisborne to Wairarapa: Mainly fine but showers likely from Napier southwards later.
Wellington: Cloudy periods with a few showers developing later.
South Island west coast: Skies clearing south of the glaciers this morning then rain further north gradually clearing.
Nelson and Marlborough: Mainly fine apart from showers about the Kaikoura coast.
Canterbury: A few coastal showers clearing this morning, elsewhere cloud clearing and becoming mainly fine.
Otago and Southland: A few showers persisting in the far south, elsewhere becoming fine this morning.
Chatham Islands: A few showers.
