Bay of Plenty to Taupo and in the east from Gisborne to Wairarapa:
Mostly fine.
From Northland to Manawatu, also for the central plateau: A mix
of fine and cloudy periods. A few light showers becoming
more frequent south of Wanganui this afternoon.
Wellington, Marlborough and Nelson: Showers about the western
ranges of Nelson otherwise mainly fine.
Canterbury: Cloudy with brief rain.
West of the South Island: Rain in most places today. Easing to
showers south of the glaciers this evening.
Otago, Southland and the Chathams: Outbreaks of rain. Fine periods
increasing about the lower South Island from afternoon.
