Short Forecast from Weather Workshop valid to midnight tomorrow:
From Waikato to Taupo and Bay of Plenty northwards: Rain and showers clearing early tomorrow.
Taranaki to Manawatu, also for the central plateau: Showers, with snow to the central mountains and Desert Road overnight. Fine and frosty conditions for much of Friday.
Gisborne to Wairarapa, also for Wellington: Rain easing to showers overnight. Snow about the ranges. Clearing slowly from the south tomorrow.
Nelson and the South Island west coast: Remaining showers and cloud clearing from Buller and Nelson tonight otherwise fine.
Marlborough and Canterbury: Showers becoming confined to coastal places north of Banks Peninsula overnight then mostly fine frosty weather.
Otago and Southland: Cloudy periods about Foveaux Strait otherwise fine and very frosty.
Chatham Island: Cold showery southwesterlies.
