Now the All Districts forecast from Weather Workshop:
The Situation: A front is moving onto the lower South Island and should spread north today. A weak ridge of high pressure covers the upper North Island.
NORTHLAND, AUCKLAND, WAIKATO, WAITOMO, TAUMARANUI and TAUPO: Mainly fine but cloud increasing towards evening and a few light showers possible about the west coast well after dark. West to southwest winds.
COROMANDEL PENINSULA and BAY of PLENTY/ROTORUA: Mainly fine with southwest breezes.
TARANAKI, TAIHAPE, WANGANUI and MANAWATU: Mainly fine but cloud increasing and a few showers possible from evening. West to northwest winds.
GISBORNE, HAWKES BAY and WAIRARAPA: Mainly fine but cloud and a few showers developing in Wairarapa after dark. West to northwest winds.
WELLINGTON: Mainly fine with northerly winds. Cloud increasing during the afternoon and a few showers possible after dark with a southerly change.
NELSON: Fine at first. Cloud increasing later with a few evening showers possible. Southwest winds.
BULLER, WESTLAND and FIORDLAND: Rain about Fiordland spreading north this morning then breaking to showers from the south later. Southwest winds.
MARLBOROUGH and CANTERBURY: Fine at first. Showers and a southwest change spread north from afternoon reaching Marlborough by evening.
OTAGO and SOUTHLAND: Showers and cool southwesterlies developing this morning. Becoming fine inland from afternoon but a few showers remain about the coast.
CHATHAM ISLANDS: A mix of cloud and fine breaks with a few showers likely. Southwest winds.
THE OUTLOOK FOR TOMORROW: Mainly fine in the North Island but another front moves onto the lower South Island bringing rain to most places. At the Chathams a mix of cloud and fine breaks.
