Suicide Attempts on Manus
Local Charged with Stabbing
An Iraqi refugee who attempted suicide on Tuesday is still in Lorengau police cell on Manus island. PIH doctors brought medication to him in the police cell this morning (Wednesday).
Meanwhile, a Somali refugee overdosed this morning in the East Lorengau compound has been taken to Lorengau hospital.
The mental distress on Manus gets worse by the day.
The refugees need urgent medical help and should be transferred to Australia for proper care and protection.
