Chamber cancels Holi celebrations to mourn Christchurch loss
The plans to celebrate Holi by NCCI is now cancelled due to the Christchurch Mosque shooting that has claimed 50 lives and many more are admitted to hospital, some of whom are in critical conditions
We all join our hands in praying for the injured who are in hospital and those families who have lost their loved ones. We know for sure it will take a long time to overcome the profound grief and sorrow.
The worst gruesome massacre in history, not far from Fiji shores, will reverberate in our lives for year’s to come and NCCI is deeply shocked and saddened by the course of events.
Three of our brethren were victims of this senseless murderous act. We offer our heartfelt condolences to all the Muslim brothers and sisters at this time of immense grief and sorrow
As a mark of respect NCCI has decided not to celebrate the Hindu Festival of Holi that was planned for Thursday 21st March. Instead we’ll pray for speedy recovery of shattered lives and shattered families who must be finding extreme difficulties to bear and cope. The untimely, unexpected, and unprecedented massacre is unthinkable and incomprehensible. Many bodies are yet to be released and buried by their loved ones which again makes life sorrowful, stressful and difficult
The belief in God, Righteousness and Faith will ultimately triumph over any obstacle and I’m sure everyone will rise again
Let’s all pray (in unity) at this time of extreme and profound grief for speedy recovery and restoration of lives
