Ukraine is ready to build new and modern relations with Russia, in which Russia respects the sovereign right of Ukraine
on its choice of foreign policy vector and this choice is the Association Agreement with our European partners. This was
started by Prime Minister of Ukraine Arsenii Yatsenuik at a briefing in Parliament Tuesday, March 4.
Arsenii Yatsenuik informed that now consultations at the level of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government
of Russia have been started: "As long as they are rather feeble, but the first steps are made."
"We want to understand the Russian position about the signed agreements to provide a range of financial instruments to
Ukraine and loans for Ukraine," Arsenii Yatsenuik said.
He said that currently there is Ukraine's debt to Russia totaling $ 2 billion, which should be directed to repay debt
for gas, which occurred under former President Viktor Yanukovych: "This is a debt that has been made by the previous
government and last President."
As the Prime Minister recalled, Russia promised to give Ukraine a loan in the amount of $ 2 billion, "We’d like to hear
a clear answer from the Russian Federation - whether Russia will fulfill the commitments that it has assumed a few
months ago."
"We hope that Russia will recognize its responsibility for destabilizing the security situation in Europe and realize
that Ukraine is an independent country and that Russian troops leave the territory of Ukraine and Russia will carry out
urgent request for a temporary stay of the Russian Black Sea Fleet in Ukraine," Arsenii Yatsenuik stressed.
