APEC Economic Leaders’ Week:
reinvigorating growth and prosperity

Vladivostok, Russia, 31 August 2012 – APEC Leaders and Ministers will gather in Vladivostok, Russia during APEC Economic Leaders’ Week from 2-9 September to deliver an added boost to growth and prosperity in the Asia-Pacific region.
Leaders of APEC’s 21 member economies will meet on 8-9 September under the theme ‘Integrate to Grow, Innovate to Prosper.’ The meeting will be preceded by the APEC Ministerial Meeting on 5-6 September.
On the table will be APEC’s 2012 priorities which include the strengthening of trade and investment, regional economic integration, food security, supply chains and innovation.
The business community will have several opportunities for high-level engagement with APEC Leaders in Vladivostok, including during the APEC CEO Summit on 7-8 September.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, the host of APEC Leaders, will join this annual open dialogue between APEC Leaders and chief executives from across the region.
The APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) Dialogues with Leaders on 8 September will facilitate an exchange of policy views in a roundtable setting that will deepen the understanding between key decision-makers involved in lifting the regional economy.
Helping to launch APEC Economic Leaders’ Week will be a meeting of ABAC representatives on 4-6 September and the Concluding APEC Senior Officials’ Meeting on 2-3 September which will finalize preparations for APEC Leaders and Ministers.
Throughout the week, APEC member economies and stakeholders will continue to work together to foster the kind of understanding, interest and propensity for action needed to build a more integrated and prosperous region.
Guided by an enduring commitment to open dialogue and consensus, members will jointly assess and build on the progress made during the year to advance policies that further strengthen the regional economy and reinvigorate global growth.
