More than two hundred people are expected to attend the World Health Day celebrations organized by the Foundation for Rural Enterprise N Development (FRIEND) at the Gujrati Grounds in Ba on Saturday (24/03/12).
Participants from four villagers namely Natalecake, Natunuku, Vadravadra, Sasa, members of the Ba Senior Citizens Home and other members of the public are all expected to join the fun-filled programme.
Programme coordinator and FRIEND’s PRISM Medical Team member Sili Mocelutu says a good turn-out is expected given the greater awareness on Health issues.
“We have been conducting regular medical out-reach programs in villagers and remote areas in the western division. The public are also being informed on the importance of eating healthy and regular exercise and the response has been encouraging as people know the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle,” said Mocelutu.
The program commences at 5am with registration and participants begin walking from their respective villager’s to the Ba Gujrati grounds at 6am.
“We have planned a lot of fun activities on the day. There are also several guest speakers who will talk on the importance of proper diets and nutrition, regular physical exercise and NCD’s,” said Mocelutu.
