SOPAC - Geoscience Conference, October 17th - 18th

October 17-18 the Science Technology and Resources Network (STAR) meeting.

1. An open forum for reporting geoscience research in the South Pacific with world scientists.

2. The overall aim of STAR is to examine the applied geoscientific and technical challenges in assisting the future of developing Pacific island countries.

3. The media is invited to cover the three-day meeting.

October 19-22 of the SPC/SOPAC Division meeting

1. This will bring together member country representatives, advisors from supporting governments, organizations and institutions, scientists and technicians working in the Pacific Island Region.

2. The session will review the progress and directions of the SOPAC work programme and to stimulate and plan new emerging initiatives needed in the region.

3. The media is invited to cover the opening at 9 a.m., Wednesday, October 19

The SPC/SOPAC Division provides assistance to 22 island countries and territories in the Pacific region through applied geoscience and technology.
