Sale of New Zealand Portfolio Update
dmg world media is near to completing the sale of its New Zealand business. Today the company announced that the business will be sold as two separate entities, splitting the consumer and trade portfolios, with the sale scheduled for completion by the end of January 2010.
The consumer show portfolio consists of 4 shows: Canterbury Home Show, Auckland Home Show, Autumn Home Show and Big Boys Toys.
The trade portfolio consists of eight shows: Autumn Gift, Winter Gift, Spring Gift, EMEX, Foodtech Packtech, Hospitality NZ, Build NZ/Designex NZ and Printech.
dmg world media also divested its Australian portfolio earlier this month, which was acquired by Diversified Exhibitions, consisting of designEX / Form & Function, BSM Expo and Foodpro.
dmg world media is an international trade show producer with principal operations across North America, Europe and Asia. dmg world media is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the Daily Mail and General Trust plc (DMGT).
dmg world media entered the Australia and New Zealand markets in 1999, when it purchased XPO in New Zealand and ATE and Riddell’s in Australia. The sale of the Australia and New Zealand show business follows a new strategic focus on emerging markets and the technology sector.
dmg world media will retain its technology and digital marketing business in Australia, which includes the ad:tech, iMedia and Evanta brands.
