Save the Children Copenhagen Climate Change Conference Statement
George Graham, Save the Children’s Humanitarian Policy Adviser in Copenhagen, said:
"It is a shocking oversight that children are almost entirely absent from the draft climate change text and it must be urgently rectified.
"Children - especially those from poor communities - are most vulnerable to the impacts of climate change and yet are the least responsible for causing them. Climate change is a real and immediate health threat to children and hundreds of thousands of children could die next year because of it.
"These discussions about the future of our planet will be a failure if children are not fully included. The lives of the next generation depend on Copenhagen."
