Europe 1989-2009: Conferece Tour 29 Oct- 4 Nov.

A series of events is taking place across New Zealand in commemoration of the 20th anniversary of the end of the Berlin Wall and Communist rule in Europe, as well as the 5th anniversary of the EU's enlargement to Central and Eastern Europe, Cyprus and Malta.
Rt. Hon. Lord Christopher Patten of Barnes, former UK Minister and EU Commissioner, Prof. Dr. Michael Zuern, Director, Department of Transnational Conflict and International Institutions at the Social Science Research Centre Berlin (WZB), and Mr George Cunningham, Chargé d'Affaires of the European Commission to New Zealand are participating in panels in Auckland on 2 November and then in Wellington for a 2-day conference, 3-4 November, which will conclude with the Gala Opening of the German Film Festival.
