Iran: Letters Regarding P5+1 (Taken Question)
Q: Did the Iranian government convey letters to Javier Solana and the Swiss, as the US protecting power in Iran, regarding the P5+1 offer? Has the Department received a letter? Were we expecting the letter? What can we say about the contents of the letter?
Answer: The P5+1 have received a letter from Iranian nuclear negotiator Jalili and are consulting closely on next steps. We cannot comment publicly on the content of the letter until after we have discussed the letter with our P5+1 partners.
