Answer: UN Special Envoy for Cyprus Alexander Downer met this afternoon with Under Secretary for Political Affairs William Burns and with Acting Assistant Secretary for European and Eurasian Affairs Marcy Ries.
Mr. Downer shared his perspective on the negotiations between the Greek and Turkish Cypriots.
The United States continues to express our support for a successful resolution to the Cyprus situation, and we remain hopeful that the current momentum will continue until negotiations are finalized.
