Pakistan: Fierce Fighting Between Government Frontier Corps (FC) Troops And Militants; 5 Militants Killed, 20 Injured
Rawalpindi, Jul 20: Fierce fighting between Frontier Corps (FC) troops and militants left at least 5 militants killed and 6 of their vehicles destroyed last night at Tora Warai fort near Doaba in Hangu.
According to information received about 100-120 militants attacked Tora Warai Fort, sometime after midnight. There were 29 FC soldiers in the Fort at the time of attack.
The Frontier Corps soldiers repulsed the attack and valiantly defended the Fort offering stiff resistance to the attackers for 3-4 hours. Meanwhile, FC Officer asked Army for reinforcement. Army immediately dispatched the reinforcements.
Army troops engaged the militants and destroyed six vehicles of the fleeing militants. Reportedly 20 militants were also injured in the engagement.
Security Forces have reinforced Tora Warai Fort. Locals of the areas are also helping security forces in fighting the militants who had come from the area outside the District.
