Flemington, NJ, July 2, 2008 - According to a new national study conducted shortly after the Senator's comments, among
308 self-reported Republicans, Democrats and independents all parties believe that faith-based groups should partner
with the U.S. government to assist people in need after viewing segments of Senator Barack Obama's faith-based
initiatives speech.
The communications research study was conducted by HCD Research and the Muhlenberg College Institute of Public Opinion
July 1-2, to obtain Americans' perceptions of a speech given by Senator Barack Obama on faith-based initiatives.
While viewing segments of Barack Obama's speech, participants indicated their levels of agreement by moving their mouse
from left to right on a continuum. The responses were recorded in quarter-second intervals and reported in the form of
curves. The participants' emotions were measured using the Ayer Emotion Battery. Participants were also asked pre- and
post-viewing questions. To view agreement curves and detailed results go to: www.mediacurves.com.
