Prime Minister satisfied with EU-TROIKA mission
Jun 20, 2008 - The Prime Minister, Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama has expressed satisfaction with the dialogue which the EU-TROIKA
Mission has had with him and Members of the Interim Government.
He made these comments following a wrap up meeting this afternoon which the TROIKA Mission had with him on conclusion of
their 3-day visit.
Commodore Bainimarama said that he was particularly pleased with their visit as it allowed him to discuss and share his
views in a frank and constructive manner with the members of the Mission.
He said he was also pleased that the Mission had a genuine desire to engage with the Interim Government and they also
expressed their views freely to him about their concerns and expectations.
They were also able to see and experience first-hand the accomplishments of the Interim Government in moving the country
forward, as well as our genuine desire to bring about necessary reforms and take the country to Parliamentary democracy
as soon as practicable.
The Mission returns to Europe tomorrow evening after having met a broad and representative section of stakeholders,
involving Government, Diplomatic Community, NGOs and Civil Society and Leaders of Political parties.
