The Foreign Secretary Comments On Zimbabwe's Presidential Election Results
On hearing the official announcement of the presidential election results in Zimbabwe the Foreign Secretary, David Miliband, said:
"It has been five weeks since the Zimbabwean elections. While the process lacks transparency, it is clear that President Mugabe lost the Presidential election. His campaign of violence and intimidation over the last month must stop immediately. Any second round must be free, fair and open to international monitors. We will continue to support those working for democracy in Zimbabwe and regional and international partners committed to change."
