Sir Paul Reeves Meets Prime Minister
Sir Paul Reeves, former New Zealand Governor General and Chairman of the 1997 Constitutional Review Commission met with Prime Minister, Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama this week.
Sir Paul Reeves is in the country on a nine days visit from March 1-9, for a second round of talks with the Interim Government. He is here at the invitation of the Prime Minister and with technical and funding support from the Commonwealth Secretariat.
Yesterday, Sir Paul Reeves also met with relevant Ministers in the Interim Government.
He is also scheduled to meet with dignitaries, members of the diplomatic corp., political party's representatives and Archbishop Petero Mataca, Co-Chair of National Council for Building a Better Fiji.
Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama said that the engagement with and facilitation of the work of Sir Paul Reeves is illustrative of the Interim Government's firm commitment to find a way forward through ongoing dialogue and consensus building amongst key political stakeholders in Fiji.
Sir Paul concludes his follow-up visit and returns to Auckland on 9th March, 2008.
