New Zealand Red Cross humanitarian aid flies into flood affected Papua New Guinea
Essential humanitarian aid supplies from New Zealand Red Cross will be flown into flood affected Papua New Guinea tomorrow on a Royal New Zealand Air Force C130 Hercules.
150 complete kitchen sets, water containers, tarpaulins and 1200 blankets will provide some immediate relief for the large number of people affected by the floods that hit the region following several days of heavy rain caused by tropical cyclone Guba.
New Zealand Red Cross has also released $10,000 from their disaster relief emergency fund to assist the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies appeal.
Rosemarie North, New Zealand Red Cross’ humanitarian aid worker assisting with information and media liaison duties remains in Papua New Guinea at the request of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
