Three Makira MPs Maintain Support For Government
The Minister for Provincial Government and Constituency Development, Japhet Waipora and government backbenchers, David Sitai and Bernard Ghiro refuted claims by the Opposition camp that they intended to crossover to the Opposition bench.
In a letter to the Leader of Opposition, Fred Fono, the three Makira Province MPs said contrary to Opposition claims as published in today's issue of the Solomon Star, they registered their total support to the Grand Coalition for Change Government.
Messrs. Waipora, Sitai and Ghiro said they had no intentions at all to switch to the Opposition Group but to remain with the government to implement its Bottom-up Approach Development Policy.
They also said they hold great admiration for the strong leadership demonstrated by Prime Minister, Manasseh Sogavare.
Meanwhile the government is continuing to regain the MPs including Ministers it lost to the Opposition Group last weekend.
A list of the MPs on the government bench will be released later today.
