Special Satellite Video Conference Briefing on Reconstruction in Iraq
On Tuesday, November 13, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. (EST), representatives from the Provincial Reconstruction Team in Baghdad will brief reporters at the Department of State via digital satellite video conference on reconstruction progress in Iraq. Thomas F. Burke, Jr., Provincial Reconstruction Team (Embedded) Baghdad 5 Team Leader, and Col. Paul E. Funk II, Commander of the 1st "Iron Horse" Brigade Combat Team, 1st Cavalry Division, will discuss current activities taking place in Baghdad. Reporters will be seated in the State Department's Press Briefing Room, Room 2209; the video feed of the briefing will be of broadcast quality, barring technical difficulties. This will be an on-the-record, on-camera briefing.
Media representatives may attend this briefing upon presentation of the following: (1) a U.S. Government-issued media identification card (Department of State, White House, Congress, Department of Defense, or Foreign Press Center), (2) a media-issued photo identification card, or (3) a letter from their employer on letterhead verifying their employment as a journalist, accompanied by an official photo identification (driver's license or passport).
