Tonga names new Crown Prince
Tonga’s new king has appointed his youngest brother as the new Crown Prince.
Prince Ulukalala Lavaka Ata has become Crown Prince Tupouto’a.
He was the prime minister for six years, holding office until February.
King George Tupou V made the appointment in a ceremony at Liukava on Tongatapu as the royal family passed on titles of noblity.
The Crown Prince’s eldest son has become the new Prince Ulukalala and his youngest son is the new Prince Ata.
It was the largest number of titles bestowed upon one family in one day.
