Campbell Fails Whales
Sending diplomats to international conferences is no substitute for sending surveillance ships to whale killing fields, Greens Leader Bob
Brown said today.
"This summer the real defence of the whales in Australia's Antarctic waters was left to Greenpeace. The Howard Government sent a clear signal to Japan's whalers - 'go ahead, we will not intervene'."
"The Environment Minister Ian Campbell failed the whales and the Greens again call on the government to shame Japan by video recording every kill and transmitting it to the world. Talkfests are not enough," Senator Brown said.
