Learn to Drive the Maserati Way
Maserati has launched its 2006 Master GT driving course programme which provides a unique opportunity to hone existing driving ability and learn new skills under the tuition of an ex-Formula One driver and while behind the wheel of a Maserati.
"There is no doubt that everyone needs to constantly improve and renew their driving skills," says Edward Butler, General Manager for Maserati in Australia and New Zealand. "With the ownership of a car like a Maserati comes an extra responsibility to always be driving at the highest level. For this reason Maserati has created the Master GT courses. They are designed to enable owners to polish their driving skills and learn new techniques that could save lives. Needless to say, being organized by Maserati means that this is also the most pleasurable and exciting school it's possible to imagine!"
The Maserati Master GT courses are based at the Paletti de Varano de'Melegari Autodromo near Parma in Italy. The Master GT courses have exclusive uses of this special training centre that not only has a demanding and road-like circuit, but also has facilities to provide artificial rain, low grip surfaces to mimic snow and ice and on-board telemetry so that drivers can examine in the classroom exactly what they were doing behind the wheel while on the track.
And what a selection of steering wheels to sit behind! The entire Maserati range is represented, including the Coupe, GranSport, GranSport Spyder and the Quattroporte, all in manual and Cambiocorsa sequential manual gearbox versions.
The team of ten instructors is lead by Ivan Capelli, a veteran of nearly 100 Grand Prix starts during his motorsport career.
Included in the courses is accommodation in the Hotel Parma and, of course, this being Italy, meals at some of the finest local restaurants during the two day/two night course.
